So our family has a fun activity we have started doing called geocaching. "Geo what" you ask? Geocaching is basically treasure hunting for geeks! We have a GPS unit where we can download cache (hiding place) sites from the internet (www.geocaching.com) You put the site coordinates into your GPS and go search for the hidden item. It is fun for the whole family.
So far we have searched for 4 sites and found 3 of them. The ones we have found are in parks around our area. Some are harder to find than others. They can be hidden in anything from a coffee can to a small film canister, but once you find it, it is oh-so-exciting! Most sites have a log book where you can sign and date it and some even have items like toys that you can take. The only rule is if you take something you have to leave something.
Anyway, we are having fun with it and want to go try some sites in Billings. Looks there are quite a few.

I think Chris and I are still considered Muggles because we haven't been initiated into the sport. Not for long though!
Geocaching is just a new word for "treasure hunt"--it is way too easy with a little computer to help you!
Actually, it sounds like fun.
