It was a beautiful, but cold, morning in the Northwest. Clear, crisp blue skies with a temperature of 17 degrees when I started. Last weekend we had lots of snow, 4-5", and then two days of non-stop rain melted all of it. So the weather today couldn't have been more surprising (and much appreciated).
I spent the first two miles thinking about how cold and crazy I was. Then I found my groove and had a great run. I was running along the river and it was very calm and peaceful. My only spectators were hundreds of geese who kept me company along the lonely trail (you'd think it was winter or something with the lack of fellow runners and walkers out). I ran 8.05 miles in 1:21:03. I did take a few walk breaks and had to stop at the car for a water stop. But when I was running my pace was about 9:30.
On the way home I stopped off at our brand new Great Harvest Bread Company for some fresh cinammon rolls. YUM! I think I deserved it, don’t you?
P.S. I just have to show off to Topher what my scenery looked like today. Although I would have taken my three nephews cheering me on anyday!

That rocks! I even thought about all the Andersen marathoners today and wondered if anyone was still running after St. George. Yes, you made us jealous with your picture. Now all I'm going to hear from Jenny for the next week is "let's move there!" Are you happy now?
I don't think there is anything better than running on a clear, crisp morning! It's so refreshing and makes you feel so good.
We are all crazy together. Yeah!!
Thanks so much for joining us. Thanks to Topher for telling you about it. My hope was that everyone would enjoy it and maybe do a little more than they normally would have. Sounds like that happened. COOL!
Race Results will be up by Tomorrow :D
